Linux & Mac OS installation
If your BBS runs on Linux or macOS (and isn’t Synchronet), you can still connect cleanly using lightweight scripts. Choose the approach that fits your environment.
Option A: Python 3 script
A Python 3 client script for modern environments. Good default choice.
Option B: BASH script
Minimal dependency approach; uses the system telnet client and simple shell glue.
Whichever you pick, the pattern is the same: you add your BBSlink credentials, then call the script as a door and pass a door code. See Door games for codes.
Want a native integration?
If your BBS software supports its own scripting language, you can build a wrapper that feels fully native.
Developer resourcesNote on older Python
Some legacy environments used Python 2 scripts historically. Prefer Python 3 where possible.
